Transferring your place to someone else

Accepted Answer

If you are unable to attend an event, you may be able to transfer your place to someone else. Simply view your booking via the link in your confirmation email and, if the event organiser is currently permitting such transfers, click to Transfer to Someone Else.

You will be asked to enter the name and email address of the intended recipient - together with any custom message you wish to add - and on completion of the booking invitation sent to the recipient, your entry will be removed.

Question 2

Updating your booking/registration information

Accepted Answer

If any of the details provided during your registration for an event are incorrect/outdated, you may be able to update them yourself. Simply view your booking via the link in your confirmation email and, if the event organiser is currently permitting such updates, click to Update Booking.

You will be able to update any responses except your Name and Date of Birth, but must ensure you click Proceed at the foot of the page to save any changes. Note that you will not receive confirmation of any changes by email.

Question 3

I purchased Refund Protect with my booking, how do I submit a claim?

Accepted Answer

If you purchased Refund Protection with your entry, your confirmation email will include your claim reference, and links to both the website through which you can submit a claim, and the Terms & Conditions you accepted during purchase that will be applicable to any such claim.

Refund Protect is a service offered by a third party provider. Neither the organiser of the event - nor eventrac as the software provider through which the purchase was made - have any influence over the subsequent outcome of any claim submitted to the provider. You must contact them directly via email reply to the initial confirmation you receive when first submitting a claim.

Refund protection is not applicable if the event is cancelled/postponed by the organiser. In this case you will need to contact them directly to discuss your original entry.

Where is the race?

The Start/Finish is on Browndown Road, approximately 140m from Race HQ at King's Academy Bay House, Browndown Road, Gosport, PO12 2QX.

Question 5

Where do I collect my race number?

Accepted Answer

You can collect at Race HQ on Saturday (10am–3pm) or Sunday (7.30am–9.45am). We strongly recommend collecting on Saturday to avoid congestion on race day.

Question 6

Where do I park?

Accepted Answer

The main car park is on Browndown Road (sat-nav PO13 9BE) and opens at 8am — it fills up quickly, so please car-share. Once full, you'll be redirected to Stokes Bay seafront car parks. The Browndown car park closes at 2pm. If you want a quick getaway after the race, Stokes Bay is recommended.

Question 7

Can I wear headphones?

Standard headphones and earphones are not permitted under UKA rules, as some sections of the course are not fully closed to traffic. Bone-conducting headphones are allowed provided you can still hear traffic and marshal directions. Runners wearing standard headphones will be disqualified.

Question 8

Can I transfer my race number to someone else?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Use the link in your confirmation email to transfer. Affiliated runners may only transfer to another affiliated runner. Unauthorised swaps may lead to disqualification. There are no deferrals or refunds.

Question 9

What time should I arrive on race day?

Accepted Answer

The race starts promptly at 10am. Number collection closes at 9.45am. Arriving early gives you time to collect your number, store your bag, and warm up — there's a mass warm-up shortly before the start.

Question 10

Where do I wear my race number?

Accepted Answer

On the front of your clothing. Do not fold, cut, or obscure it, and don't pin it to your shorts leg. Please complete your medical/emergency contact details on the reverse.

Question 11

What if I need to retire during the race?

Accepted Answer

Wait safely at the roadside for marshal assistance. If you retire, do not cross the finish mats — use the footpath to the left of the finish. You must inform Race HQ and return your timing chip.

Question 12

Are there road closures I should know about?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Browndown Road is closed 8.30am–2pm, Salterns Road 10am–12.45pm, and part of Privett Road to westbound traffic 9.50am–12.30pm.

Question 13

What happens at the finish?

Accepted Answer

Every finisher receives a medal and goodie bag. Prize presentations take place at approximately 12.30pm at the Sports Centre. If you need to leave early, arrange for someone to collect your prize on your behalf.

Question 14

Are there children's races?

Accepted Answer

Yes — an Under 12s 1k Fun Run at 9am and an Under 17s 2k Challenge Race at 9.15am, with a mass warm-up at 8.45am. Entry is £3 and is open up to and including race day.
